We were selected by Fordham University’s prestigious Jazz Collective Organization to perform its grand finale show of their "Jazz It Up!" Concert Series. TSP will be joined by two of the biggest names in jazz; James Genus - bassist for the Saturday Night Live show band, who also regularly performs with Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin, Ravi Coltrane and others; and equally impressive, drummer Nate Smith, who regularly plays with innovative jazz superstars Chris Potter, Dave Holland and Joe Jackson, with whom he recently toured.

TSP does Direct-to-Vinyl Recording Featuring James Genus

We recently completed a double record, yes RECORD, for the audophile label Direct Grace. All proceeds from the recording go to help at-risk children. It was recorded live, direct-to-vinyl and features James Genus on acoustic bass (Herbie Hancock, Brecker Brothers, Ravi Coltrane, et al) and Greg Gonzales on drums (Fela! musical director, Beyonce, Cecil Taylor, et al). Original artwork is being created by the acclaimed Ray Masters. Stay tuned for upcoming tour dates supporting the 2013 release.

TSP Headlined Euphoria Music Festival with WyCliffe Gordon and Kicked off the Fest with a Sold Out Event "Recipe of a Rhapsody"

We returned to Greenville, SC to headline the highest attended event, the Jazz Brunch, at The Euphoria Food, Wine & Music Festival. We played side by side with world renowned trombonist WyCliffe Gordon , as well as, performing at their newest event dubbed "Recipe of a Rhapsody" where we gave a behind-the-scenes look at what we jazz artists are doing in terms of improvising, writing music, stories of the road and more. TSP's Mark Rapp Played with the Famed Cab Calloway Orchestra

had an absolute blast playing second trumpet in the legendary Cab Calloway Orchestra. Being surrounded by some of the best musicians on tour today and making music with Cab's grandson who is keeping the band alive and well was a real treat. The jam session that ensued afterwards was nothing short of out-of-this-world.

TSP's Mark Rapp Played with Vibraphonist Extraordinaire Christian Tamburr

Christian's "Ignite the Arts"" tour brings him through the Carolina's where Mark Rapp will fill-in for his regular trumpeter Dominick Farinacci. Christian has played all over the world. From being musical director for Julio Iglesias to playing and/or recording with Clark Terry, Slide Hampton, James Moody, Nicolas Payton and so many more. It was a real musical treat for me to join the show for this special night. Here's a video clip of us playing "Cherokee"
